The MOBILAR® approach

MOBILAR® is a portmanteau of “mobile” AND “modular” and uses a methodology that forces the L&D department to generate training concepts starting from a business perspective. Mastering competencies and tasks is key when successfully rolling out this project.

Description:

Did your company just hire a new employee?

The next step is to get this colleague up to cruising speed and to the certified level as soon as possible. Maybe your new colleague already gained experience with another brand? Then the question is: what knowledge and skills does this person need to assimilate to be recognized as ‘certified’ according to your company standard? 

These questions are answered via MOBILAR, a modularly structured screening, which is based -among other things- on scientific models and big data in order to be able to identify one’s personal training needs. To make the screening even more consistent with the new reality, this practical exercise is carried out in the dealership, with all brand-specific tools and procedures at hand. This gives MOBILAR the strength to also assess the learning context of the employee and thus further optimize the learning efficiency.

At the end of this screening, a short on-site debrief session will be provided with the training responsible with the aim of drawing up an action plan to reach the desired certified level.

Screening goal:

This screening measures the efficiency of the new employee within the core processes of the company.

Various competencies are and can be assessed during a MOBILAR screening, often spreading over a total of 19 screened modules at once. 

Example for a Technician screening:

  • To what extent is the technician able to use the diagnostic tools correctly in the context of a basic diagnostic assignment?
  • Can he/she follow the standardized protocols? And use the systems correctly for looking up basic technical information in the context of maintenance or repair?
  • Does the technician have the necessary knowledge to give correct input to the warranty advisor for the correct handling of warranty claims?
  • How convenient is the technician when using of a tablet or pc?
  • What knowledge and skills does he/she have regarding reading electrical diagrams, use of the multimeter for basic measurements, interpretation of codes (mass points, plugs, wire colors, vehicle equipment etc.)?
  • What does customer satisfaction mean for him her ? Is he/she able to recognize his/her role in this and determine his/her influence on customer satisfaction rates?
  • To what extent are the procedures and tools present in the workshop to support the technician in performing his/her work according to the companies standard work protocols?

Target group:

  • Every new (or existing) hire.

Duration:

  • Most of the screenings can be done within a 3 hour timeframe: 2,5 hours screening + 0,5 hours debriefing

As during the screening, various competencies will be trained after the MOBILAR screening is done. Multiple modules can be covered, however the core of the MOBILAR methodology is to ‘only’ train the modules that were indicated during the training needs analysis.

Example for a Training for Technician(s):

  • During the screening the Technician was not able to demonstrate a correct and qualitative mastery of the diagnostics tool: a refresh-session (WBT) as well as short 1-to-1 theoretical training is proposed, together with mentoring sessions in the dealership to train effective use of the multimeter on real cases (cars waiting to get serviced).

Target group:

  • Every new (or existing) hire.

Duration:

  • Depending on the result of the screening. On average, 3 to 4 days per person to cover an in-depth personalized training plan.

Pricing:

  • € 595 – € 1295 / day
  • Depending on the job role
